Install·macOS 14+
Four steps, one terminal command.
No installer, no admin password, no system permissions. Ad-hoc signed rather than notarized (that needs a paid Apple Developer account), so step 4 clears the one Gatekeeper warning that causes.
1
Download
Grabs NotchClaude.zip — the universal build, Apple Silicon and Intel in one file.
2
Unzip it
Double-click NotchClaude.zip in Finder (usually in Downloads) — macOS unzips it automatically into NotchClaude.app.
3
Move it to Applications
Drag NotchClaude.app from Downloads into your /Applications folder.
4
Clear the quarantine flag
Run this once in Terminal, then open the app from Applications:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/NotchClaude.app
Without this, macOS refuses to open the app with "can't be opened." The GUI equivalent is System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Full detail in the README.
What happens next: open the app, it asks before touching anything, then wires its own Claude Code hooks into
~/.claude/settings.json (backing the file up first). Start a new Claude Code session and the notch takes it from there — see the walkthrough for what it can do.
